'ello, Winter!
December in Los Angeles can be interesting to say the least! The weather is mild, but it's that in between kind of weather where one day you need a sweater the next day your shorts are perfectly acceptable! As someone in fashion, I want to be seasonally appropriate while still being comfortable...so here's what I am doing...
Investing in just a few pieces that can take me from my trips back to Michigan while still being very winter in LA is key...
I am picking up one fabulous new sweater, I love this one pictured from ASOS, it is a chunky mohair stitch, the color is soft and easy and it feels so yummy!
The distressed denim I choose work well on my body because they are more of a slouchy straight jean, and who could resist the all over shreds.
Just before WWD MAGIC this past August, I invested in a similar pair of Jeffery Campbell black booties, sans the big heel...I have never gotten more compliments on a pair of shoes in my life! (I wish I was joking!) They quickly sold out everywhere, online and in all retailers...but these are the same boot, just with a higher heel..I vote buy them, you won't regret it!
The inspiration photo I choose is one that Jules posted of herself a few weeks ago...she has on thee most perfect black silk round collar top from one of my favorite brands of all time...Everlane.
Alexander Wang can do no wrong in my eyes, not only are his basics done to perfection...I can always find a handbag that speaks to me! The one I choose is the small Prisma envelope sling in this cool tricolor lizard embossed leather.
Accessorizing is the simplest, most effective way to update your existing wardrobe staples. And because it is the holiday season, this is the perfect time to add a few things to your wish list, things like...a watch, a camera, candles, jewelry and perfume are the ultimate holiday gifts, to give and to receive!
I gave you al little glimpse of one of my dear friends and fashion designer, Tate Eknaian's fashion illustration pieces above, I can't wait to show you all more in depth the talent of this young woman!
